Mission Titicaco is fighting for the human rights of every child.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child spread self evident rights for every child, but most children and schools throughout the world lack the infrastructure and tools to exercise these rights. Titicaco Communicaring School may become an important tool for the children to be able to exercise these rights.
See the following texts from the articles 12,13,14 and 15;
-
States parties shall assure to the child who is capable of forming his or her own views the right to express those views freely in all matters..
-
Freedom of expression and freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of the child´s choice.
-
The freedom of thought, conscience and religion
>> Titicaco Communicaring School, e-learning, e-dialogue and e-democracy modules may become important in this process. Every school using our platform, will be able to exercise these rights.
Also article 17:
-
..important function by mass media and shall insure that the child has access to information and material from a diversity of national and international sources, especially those aimed at the promotion of his or her social, spiritual and moral well-being and physical and
mental health
-
encourage the media to disseminate information of social and cultural benefit to the child and in accordance with the spirit of article 29;
-
encourage international co-operation in the production, exchange and dissemination of such information and material from a diversity of cultural, national and international sources
-
-
In regard to linguistic needs…. Shall not be denied the right to use his or her own language
>> Through Titicaco Communicaring School where teachers and partners will be able to contribute with educating content in different languages, from different cultures and translated by other partners many of these rights might be exercised.

The articles 28 and 29 on the rights of the child to education:

Monday the 10:th of November 2003
In October I received an e-mail from Mimi Oeberg in New York, she asked if I was still involved in the Mission Titicaco project. As most of you know, I will always be. Anyway, she and her colleague Carol Snyder started a project called Warm Hands, Warm Heart
A People to People Project. This wonderful initiative proofs that everyone can make a difference.
My dear friend Mary Carmen Zamorano Rossel, with whom I met the former Bolivian president Tuto Quiroga, and her family are involved in a project helping approximately 700 families living in Altiplano (the highlands of Bolivia) by bringing them tools for harvesting, education for the young and grown ups, clothes, initiatives for cleaning water and other important issues. Every Christmas they have a tradition of going to Altiplano with hundreds of gifts, such as old toys and clothes, for the children. That is the Zamorano Rossel way of making a difference.
This year Mary Carmen will be able to bring 565 pairs of mittens (wool gloves) to the children of Altiplano, thanks to the initiative from Carol Snyder, Mimi Oeberg and her colleagues. Any of you who have visited the highlands of Bolivia, knows it becomes very cold at night, mostly because of the high altitude and strong winds. I am glad Mission Titicaco have had the opportunity to be the connecting link between the two worlds – a perfect example of what we in Mission Titicaco call positive spin off effects.
Soon we will publish the pictures from the children receiving mittens through this initiative. Below a picture of the Zamorano Rossel family in Bolivia.

Jill Nilsson and Ivan Daza from Mission Titicaco had a meeting with Gunilla Von Arbin at World Childhood Foundation. We gave a deep presentation of Mission Titicaco. The purpose of the meeting was to get recognition and interest for a possible future partnership.
Titicaco Communicaring School can become an important tool in preventing children from coming into the deep and serious problems that Childhood is working with globally. Children all over the world, and especially in poor rural areas in developing countries who are in the danger zone, need more awareness regarding issues such as ethical values, respect, prostitution and trafficking.
We are very pleased about the result of this meeting, Gunilla expressed her interest on been continuously informed about the progress of Mission Titicaco.
